Comparison Between Emergency Severity Index Plus Cardiac Troponin I Rapid Test and Emergency Severity Index in Patients Presenting with Low-risk Chest Pain: A Randomized Clinical Trial

چکیده
Background: There is difficulty in identifying low-risk patients with acute coronary syndrome the emergency department (ED). Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare mistriage between Emergency Severity Index (ESI) plus cardiac troponin I rapid test (cTnI) and ESI among chest pain. Methods: A randomized clinical trial conducted from January April 2019. One hundred pain were randomly allocated + cTnI groups. Triage levels, used resources, rate compared both groups discharged ED admitted unit (CU) or care (CCU). Results: Our samples included 100 (age: 52.9 ± 13.92 years; 51% female) who equally assigned Overtriage 6% 88% for groups, respectively. triage level significantly different (3.92 vs. 3.00). Conclusions: score seems be more valid than scale It recommended add ED.

OBJECTIVE To verify agreement between estimative of predicted resources using the adapted Emergency Severity Index and the real amount of resources used by patients. To analyze the variables number of years since graduation, years of work experience and years of experience in emergency services especially with accurate anticipation of resources need. METHODS This retrospective analytical stud...
متن کاملValidity of the emergency severity index in predicting patient outcomes in a major emergency department
Background and Purpose: The emergency severity index (ESI) triage system has been recommended by the Ministry of Health to classify patients at emergency departments. This study aimed to assess the validity of ESI system (version 4) in the emergency department of a teaching hospital. Outcome measures were hospitalization, emergency department (ED) length of stay, resource consumption, in-hos...
متن کاملModel comparison in Emergency Severity Index level prediction
Emergency Department (ED) triage is a process of determining illness severity and accordingly assigning patient priority. The Emergency Severity Index (ESI) is a 5-level acuity categorization system that aides in triage. This paper compared the capabilities of predicting ESI level using ordinal logistic regression (OLR), artificial neural networks (NNs), and naïve Bayesian networks (NBNs). Data...
متن کاملApplication of emergency severity index in pediatric emergency department.
BACKGROUND The purpose of triage is to identify patients needing immediate resuscitation, to assign patients to a pre-designed patient care area, and to initiate diagnostic/therapeutic measures as appropriate. This study aimed to use emergency severity index (ESI) in a pediatric emergency room. METHODS From July 2006 to August 2010, a total of 21 904 patients visited the International Departm...
متن کاملComparison of myocardial perfusion imaging and cardiac troponin I in patients admitted to the emergency department with chest pain.
BACKGROUND Identification of patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS) among those who present to emergency departments with possible myocardial ischemia is difficult. Myocardial perfusion imaging with 99mTc sestamibi and measurement of serum cardiac troponin I (cTnI) both can identify patients with ACS. METHODS AND RESULTS Patients considered at low to moderate risk for ACS underwent gate...
